The perspective on killing animals to attract fortune on ancient belief

It is believed that there are many gods out there who keep various communities and towns against evil and brings good fortune their way, so therefore to make them happy there are series of occasions, activities and dogmatic exercise must be carried out to ensure that the Oracle maintain their side of the bargain.

In Lagos, one of the state in Nigeria, down to a small rural area called ONIGBONGBON in Maryland; every month there are sacrifices offered to a particular kind of their god called  IRUMOLE which they say brings good luck to their community and grants them upper hand over any strange or evil attack that may be lunched against them specifically in their unguarded hour. But some things are not just right in right place: because the evil that befall them the most of the time are circumstances within and rarely from the outside intruders; Is it that belief is way beyond the appropriate orchestrated pattern of life? or are they too dogmatic about the way of life introduce to them by their fathers.
